Discord Server Tiers

Introducing the OKC-SPAN Discord Server. On this server one will find 5 levels of membership.

Charging for information feels not-great to me. Then again, working for free doesn’t seem quite right. So, OKC-SPAN will now have four tiers of paid membership and one tier for free. Each tier will also have access to the benefits of the previous tier.

• 0-Tier: Signing up without payment is accepted and will grant the user access to each essay I publish and a basic level of uncurated group discussion. Just like now, if you don’t believe my coverage is something you should or are able to afford to pay for, you can join on Patreon or directly on the Discord server for free. But, if you aren’t quite poor, I really think you should consider paying $1 a month (at least). That’s $12 to be able to get a year’s worth of news from me.

• Tier-1: ($1-$4 per month) First level users will have access to a set of text channels with curated discussion, a weekly update, and occasional text-based live q&a sessions with ya boi.

• Tier-2: ($5-$9) Level 2 comes with more discussion channels for more granular topics (city, county, police, jail), and occasional voice q&a sessions.

• Tier-3: ($10-$14) Third level supporters get access to all the above, more access to my unvarnished thoughts, voice q&a sessions monthly, and invitations to private events (at least once a year).

• Tier-4: ($15) Level four comes with the above and the ability to create or request new bespoke channels for any appropriate topic (sports, cinema, music, idgaf). Invitations to private events, and input on those events.

• Tops, just top tier, uppermost level: ($20 or more): in addition to all that has been listed above, top supporters are invited to request a new essay on the topic of the requester’s choice. (Limit one free essay per supporter per year.)
